Are you looking for a good product for shielding your hair against hot airstream from a dryer, super-hot flat-iron or scorching heat in the summer? Nothing works better than a heat protection spray. I’m glad you popped in because today I will share tips on choosing a good spray and review three top products.
How to choose the best heat protectant for hair?
Contrary to appearances, it’s not so easy because most available products fail to nurture the hair, leave it feeling stiff and coarse or form a weird white residue on its surface (it’s striking on dark hair). A good heat protector should:
- protect and strengthen the hair in any conditions
- be easy to use and non-overburdening
- condition and nourish the hair
- have a smoothing and shine-heightening effect
- have a nice smell because we wear it all day
How to find such a gem? No searching is needed because I’ve done it for you. 🙂
I’ve used heat protectants for many years and have three foolproof products that I highly recommend. Check out the reviews!
#1 Nanoil Heat Protectant Spray
Bottle size: 200 ml
Price: very attractive <3
To be honest, you, my readers, told me about this heat protectant spray. I don’t regret trying it! There’s a reason why it’s top ranked all over the Internet. Nanoil Heat Protectant Spray quickly became my number one because apart from thermal protection it gives me SUPER-SOFT, SILKY-SMOOTH AND GLOSSY HAIR. It’s the only heat protectant I know which contains a brilliant ingredient for hair: silk proteins. It goes well with fine, fragile, dry, stiff or thick hair which tends to get greasy. It leaves the hair fresh, and is easy to use. There’s no residue (some protectants leave white residue which is hard to remove). It always gives me smooth, resilient, shiny strands feeling soft. It’s a terrific conditioner which keeps the hair lovely all day. And I love the scent! Wonderful!
#2 Kevin Murphy Ever Smooth Spray
Bottle size: 150 ml
Price: too high :/
I know that the steep price will scare away many fans of heat styling but let’s face it, Kevin Murphy sells prestigious cosmetics. This heat protectant is one of the best I’ve tried. It’s a special, heat-activated, light and nice to use spray which won’t weigh down the thinnest hair. It helps me get smooth, frizz-free hair quickly. Kevin Murphy Ever Smooth Spray also goes well with thick, low porosity hair (tried and confirmed by my bestie). You’ll like it if your hair is prone to flyaways and unmanageable and needs frizz control. The product beautifies and protects, delivering flexible hold and resistance to humidity. The formula is rich in heat-activated polymers which guard and tame the hair. Extracts from white and blue cypress and lemon aspen work like AHA acids: they revitalize the strands and prevent damage due to external conditions. Overall, it’s a cool product with terrific components, but the price may be a dealbreaker for some people.
#3 Bumble And Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Heat/UV Protective Primer
Bottle size: very small, 60 ml
Price: not good considering the bottle size and efficiency
I’ve read that Bumble And Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Heat/UV Protective Primer is many girls’ top choice in the summer. Well, it does have an amazing exotic aroma, and a travel size…. Sadly, it didn’t last me all summer. When it comes to effect, it’s terrific for sun protection – I liked to use it on wet hair after bathing in the sea and loved the effect. Hair was protected from the sun and dryness plus I got the messy beach look – no styling needed. The hair air-dried on the beach. The formula abounds in oils so you need to be a fan of oils to like the product. It contains sweet almond oil, grape seed oil, coconut oil, gardenia oil, macadamia nut oil, argan oil and safflower oil. Thanks to them, the product keeps the hair hydrated, healthy and shiny. I have an objection, though. It could be more budget for such a small bottle.
Let’s call it a day! Have a good time shopping and always make sure your hair is safe while using hot tools!
